The History of Holy Trinity Online Centre

In 2018 the Acer computers had become out of date and needed to be replaced. Again Roger somehow found the funds to replace the Acer computers with HP Windows 10 refurbished computers bought from REPC in Great Bridge.

The computer centre has many people using it during the week . Unfortunately the Microsoft company have written the new Windows 11 software so that it will not run on old computers such as our computers and Windows 10 will be out of date in October this year and this means that our computers could become unsafe using the Internet. This problem is not of our making. This means that the computer centre needs to buy new Windows 11 computers to stay open but now Roger is not here to help find the funding. Gill from Holy Trinity church has been helping to find funding for the new computers.

The other four UK online centres in the Lichfield Diocese have closed because they did not have any volunteers to run them and keep them open. The Holy Trinity one has been kept open for 25 years since it started by Roger, Dazz and David after Pete the manager left after his three years were up.

There is a good community feeling in the centre and people have become friends over the 25 years that it has been open.
